InfoSifter Telegram Guard

Custom Telegram protection for groups and communities

InfoSifter Telegram Guard is a custom anti-scam and moderation bot for Telegram group owners, community admins and project teams.

It helps protect Telegram groups from common scam behavior such as impersonators, fake support accounts, phishing links, suspicious domains, scam phrases and unwanted spam.

The system can run in alert-only mode for testing or in ban mode, where serious violations can lead to automatic message deletion and user removal.

What InfoSifter Telegram Guard can do

Detect admin and moderator impersonators

The bot can detect users who try to imitate:

  • group owners
  • administrators
  • moderators
  • trusted community members
  • support accounts
  • official project accounts

It can detect suspicious usernames and display names using configurable rules.

Examples:

  • KOSIUSK0SIUS
  • AdminOfficial Admin
  • Project Support → fake support account
  • Moderator Team → fake moderator identity

Detect suspicious display names

Scammers often avoid suspicious usernames and instead change their visible display name.

InfoSifter can monitor display names for suspicious patterns such as:

  • Official Support
  • Customer Service
  • Admin Team
  • Moderator
  • Helpdesk
  • Project Support
  • crypto/investment scam identities

These rules can be customized for each group.

Detect suspicious usernames

The bot can detect username patterns that are commonly used for impersonation.

For example, it can detect lookalike usernames where letters are replaced with similar characters:

  • O0
  • I1
  • S5
  • lI

This helps catch accounts created specifically to look like real admins or known community members.

Detect scam phrases

Instead of reacting only to single words, InfoSifter can detect suspicious phrase patterns.

Examples:

  • guaranteed profit
  • daily returns
  • financial freedom
  • withdrawal proof
  • DM me
  • message me privately
  • trusted investment platform
  • reliable company
  • promo package
  • join investment

This helps reduce false positives because the bot can react to suspicious combinations of words rather than ordinary words in isolation.

InfoSifter can inspect links posted in the group and react based on group-specific rules.

It can detect:

  • known blocked domains
  • suspicious domain patterns
  • domains containing scam-related words
  • fake airdrop links
  • fake claim/reward links
  • phishing pages
  • fake support websites
  • suspicious domain extensions

The bot can also be configured to allow all links except explicitly blocked ones, or to allow only approved domains.

Delete scam messages

In ban mode, when a serious violation is detected, the bot can automatically remove the offending message.

This is useful because banning the scammer alone is not enough if the scam advertisement or phishing link remains visible in the group.

Ban bad actors automatically

In ban mode, the bot can automatically remove users from the group when strong scam indicators are detected.

Typical ban triggers can include:

  • admin/moderator impersonation
  • suspicious display-name patterns
  • suspicious username patterns
  • blocked phishing domains
  • blocked domain regex matches
  • scam phrase matches configured for automatic enforcement

The exact rules are configurable.

Keep trusted users safe

The bot supports trusted/admin lists so that legitimate admins, moderators and trusted users are not accidentally moderated.

Protected users can be excluded from:

  • deletion actions
  • ban actions
  • suspicious-name rules
  • keyword and phrase reactions
  • link enforcement

Maintain scammer and incident records

InfoSifter can keep local records of moderation activity, including:

  • banned user IDs
  • suspicious user IDs
  • detection reason
  • display name
  • username
  • date and time
  • action taken

This creates a useful audit trail for community owners and moderators.

Support multiple Telegram groups

One InfoSifter installation can protect multiple Telegram groups.

Each group can have its own:

  • configuration
  • trusted users
  • admin lists
  • keyword rules
  • phrase rules
  • username rules
  • display-name rules
  • domain rules
  • logs
  • scammer database

This makes it possible to run separate protection profiles for different communities.

Important technical notes

Telegram has some visibility limitations. InfoSifter can reliably react to messages the bot receives, but silent member monitoring depends on what Telegram allows the bot or connected Telegram session to see.

This means:

  • message-based detection is the most reliable;
  • full member scanning may not be available in every group;
  • hidden member lists can limit silent lurker detection;
  • profile rename detection works only for users the system can observe;
  • Telegram does not always provide real-time rename events for silent users.

Because of this, the safest wording is:

InfoSifter continuously monitors messages and, where Telegram permissions allow, also monitors members and profile changes.

What the bot does not promise

InfoSifter Telegram Guard does not claim to detect every possible scammer or every possible impersonation attempt.

It does not guarantee:

  • detection of every silent lurker;
  • detection of every profile rename in hidden-member groups;
  • detection of every Unicode/homoglyph trick;
  • detection of every scam link not covered by rules;
  • perfect zero-false-positive moderation.

Instead, it provides a practical, configurable protection layer that catches many common Telegram scam patterns and reduces moderator workload.

For new groups or customers, the best approach is to start in alert-only mode.

This allows moderators to test:

  • which rules match correctly;
  • whether any false positives occur;
  • which domains should be allowed or blocked;
  • which phrase rules are too aggressive;
  • which users should be added to the trusted list.

After testing, the bot can be switched into ban mode for automatic enforcement.

Good fit for

InfoSifter Telegram Guard is useful for:

  • crypto communities
  • investment-related groups
  • project support groups
  • public Telegram communities
  • private membership groups
  • business communities
  • groups with repeated scammer activity
  • communities where admins are often impersonated

  • detect scam phrases;
  • detect phishing links and suspicious domains;
